Here's wishing that your resolutions for the year has been achieved. Happy 1 Month!

It's 02.03.09!

The Darevil Inside! is 1-month young today.
It's been a fruitful, busy & crazy month! ;)

WHAT has happened over the last 31 days?
i) 2 admirable showcases published
ii) 2 t-shirt designs went on sale
iii) Project Dare1.0 was launched
(P/S: Deadline has been extended to 30.04.09, so keep them submissions coming!)
iv) Project EMO: Lovevolve series with 8 collection and 12 accessories for order to date
v) Project EMO Green and support for the Earth hour, and
vi) 7 inspirational wallpapers for your your desktop

A lot? Too little? Or not much? ...It doesn't really matter, does it? :)
What matters most is that making things happen is indeed POSSIBLE. Its whether you want to or not. The Darevil Inside! is moving and it has moved people to think, re-think and to do things hopefully.

To those who can relate to the concept & insight - thanx for your feedback. May you have the courage to take that first step.
To those who've given your support - thank you, thank you & thank you! I really appreciate it! :D
To those who do not fully understand - may be one day you will.
To those who took and are taking the stand to move forward - i salute you! Kudos. Keep inspiring people to live their dreams and thank you for all the support.

Life is short. No regrets. Remember that.

Here's looking ahead to the next month. What's in store you might ask? Hmmm...April will be a month focused on toys, characters, illustrations and 'weird' stuff. There will be a new segment entitled 'Spots' as well which i will share little creative projects done by friends and fellow creatives. This mini version of a showcase will prove that you shouldn't underestimate the small little things. They do make a huge difference in life. So, keep on blogging in to see what other new things are coming ya ;)

Stay happy, stay healthy, take care & smile always,

Thank You!

Hi friends, family and everyone who's visiting this site :)

It's been 2 weeks since i re-launch this blog and i want to say 'THANK YOU!' for all the positive words and support so far. It's been a really crazy 2 weeks for me.

'THANK YOU!' also to those who have ordered and received your EMO accessories. I hope you'll enjoy wearing them as much as i enjoyed making them. I really didn't expect the response for the EMO experiment. I hope to design more items when i have the time.

Besides EMO and the on-going 'Project:Dare' (do remember to submit your designs by 4.4.2009!), there'll also be new things coming out at the end of the month. And tomorrow i will post my first showcase on this blog. So remember to blog in.

I hope you'll continue to visit this site from time to time to see what's new. Bookmark it and add it to your favourites ya! Drop me an e-mail if you have any questions or things to share, i would love to hear from you too.

Lastly, thanx again for all the support! :)

Stay happy, stay healthy, take care & smile always,

Speak of the Darevil!

I would like to welcome you to The Darevil Inside! and thank you for visiting this blog :)

After 3 years of toiling, its finally here. Many have asked me a lot of questions about it since it’s pre-launch back in September ‘08. “What’s The Darevil Inside?”; “What’s this blog about?”; “How do i get involve in this project?” I’ll try to elaborate everything as best as i can below...

WHAT is ‘The Darevil Inside!'?
...And it’s ‘Darevil’, NOT ‘Daredevil’ ya. >:( Daredevil is a stuntman or a Marvel comic book character.

The Darevil Inside! is a creactive community project. The word ‘darevil’ is a combination of 2 words = ‘dare’ + ‘devil’. As oppose to ‘devil’, it refers to your POSITIVE inner thoughts, dreams and desires. The things that you want to do but you surpress deep inside. You dare not. Why not?

I have friends and i know of many people who are creative & talented. I’ve seen what they’ve done and how far they can go. Some share with me their thoughts of doing something different. Some do it. And some keep saying the same thing over and over again after a year, 2 years...10 years! I want to work abroad; i want to make a toy; i want to be an artist; etc. But they don’t come around to making it real.

WHAT is the objective of this project?
Besides being a personal creative playground. The Darevil Inside! is a creactive community project. What i mean by that is that i would like anyone and everyone to be a part of it. You could be a creative person, an accountant or a mother of two. Everyone has their very own ‘darevil’. Maybe you like cooking, you’ve got paintings which you want to turn into a book; you want to backpack Europe; you wish to play the guitar but havn’t; you want to salsa but you’re scared; or you make accessories and you want to open a shop one day. It may be small or big; it may work out or you might fall flat - so what? Do them and share it! At least you can say you did it. That's more important. This project and blog is an avenue to showcase your works and dreams. Nothing is too small. Who knows, maybe someone out there can make you huge like Tokidoki ;)

In the weeks to come, I will also showcase the achievements of friends and people from around the world. They have brought their ‘darevils’ out. A lot of courage, hard work, time and effort has been taken to move forward in their lives. I hope their achievements can be a source of inspiration and motivation to everyone else to create and realize your own dreams.

Do it & do it now. Not later; not tomorrow and certainly not next year. Life is short. Don’t think too long. You’ll be amazed by what you can do when you put your mind to it. Everyone has a ‘darevil’ inside of them. So, what’s the ‘darevil’ inside of you?

To balance things off, there will also be items for sale and random post of weird & silly stuff from time to time. Be serious AND be sillious! :p

I hope the above has answered most of your curiousities. If you have any further queries, don’t hesitate to ask. I look forward to hearing your thoughts & experiences; and seeing your creations posted on this blog. Im also looking forward to any collaborative efforts. Do drop me an e-mail: nicholasquah@hotmail.com.

Last but not least, i want to thank Su-Yin & Ruyi for teaching me how to blog. This blog wouldn't be up without your help. I don't have a website (yet!) but hey, i've got a blog now! I want to thank Jen as well for her inspiration and consultation on this project. Thanx a million! You gals ROCK! ;)

Finally, thank you for stopping by. I look forward to seeing you again.

Stay happy, stay healthy, take care & smile always,

2.3.2009

‘Michael Jordan’s Playground’ was the first video and the first time i watched Michael Jordan play. By videos i meant VHS videotapes. Yes, that was probably back in ‘91. After watching it, i picked up the game and told myself that i have to be like Mike, along with the other countless kids on the court and around the world. Well, with my height, maybe not physically, haha. But mentally, he taught me a lot. Thanx Mike! :)

“What can’t?” he said. A strong-willed man with amazing abilities. Larry Bird quoted him as “God in basketball shoes.” Get a copy of his videos and you’ll know why he’s the best there’ll ever be. He changed the game and became the face of basketball.

As a tribute to a ‘darevil’ himself, i re-launch this blog on this day - 2.3.2009.

“If i put my mind to it, i've always believed i could do anything i want. You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.” - Michael Jordan.
