I would like to welcome you to The Darevil Inside! and thank you for visiting this blog :)
After 3 years of toiling, its finally here. Many have asked me a lot of questions about it since it’s pre-launch back in September ‘08. “What’s The Darevil Inside?”; “What’s this blog about?”; “How do i get involve in this project?” I’ll try to elaborate everything as best as i can below...
WHAT is ‘The Darevil Inside!'?
...And it’s ‘Darevil’, NOT ‘Daredevil’ ya. >:( Daredevil is a stuntman or a Marvel comic book character.
The Darevil Inside! is a creactive community project. The word ‘darevil’ is a combination of 2 words = ‘dare’ + ‘devil’. As oppose to ‘devil’, it refers to your POSITIVE inner thoughts, dreams and desires. The things that you want to do but you surpress deep inside. You dare not. Why not?
I have friends and i know of many people who are creative & talented. I’ve seen what they’ve done and how far they can go. Some share with me their thoughts of doing something different. Some do it. And some keep saying the same thing over and over again after a year, 2 years...10 years! I want to work abroad; i want to make a toy; i want to be an artist; etc. But they don’t come around to making it real.
WHAT is the objective of this project?
Besides being a personal creative playground. The Darevil Inside! is a creactive community project. What i mean by that is that i would like anyone and everyone to be a part of it. You could be a creative person, an accountant or a mother of two. Everyone has their very own ‘darevil’. Maybe you like cooking, you’ve got paintings which you want to turn into a book; you want to backpack Europe; you wish to play the guitar but havn’t; you want to salsa but you’re scared; or you make accessories and you want to open a shop one day. It may be small or big; it may work out or you might fall flat - so what? Do them and share it! At least you can say you did it. That's more important. This project and blog is an avenue to showcase your works and dreams. Nothing is too small. Who knows, maybe someone out there can make you huge like Tokidoki ;)
In the weeks to come, I will also showcase the achievements of friends and people from around the world. They have brought their ‘darevils’ out. A lot of courage, hard work, time and effort has been taken to move forward in their lives. I hope their achievements can be a source of inspiration and motivation to everyone else to create and realize your own dreams.
Do it & do it now. Not later; not tomorrow and certainly not next year. Life is short. Don’t think too long. You’ll be amazed by what you can do when you put your mind to it. Everyone has a ‘darevil’ inside of them. So, what’s the ‘darevil’ inside of you?
To balance things off, there will also be items for sale and random post of weird & silly stuff from time to time. Be serious AND be sillious! :p
